Accepting Aid

Students who receive e-mail award notifications may view, accept, or decline aid on Wingspan. Students should accept or decline aid within 30 days of the notice of award offer.

You must have a Winthrop e-mail account to access Wingspan. If you have not created a Winthrop e-mail account, you may do so by clicking on Need an account? from the Wingspan home page.

Once you have logged in to Wingspan, use the following steps to access your financial aid offer:

2024-2025 (fall 2024, spring 2025, summer 2025)

2023-2024 (fall 2023, spring 2024, summer 2024)

2024-2025

  • In the Self Service 9x - NEW box on the right, click on the Financial Aid Dashboard link.
  • On the Financial Aid Dashboard, select Award Year 2024-2025 from the drop-down box at the top right-hand corner.
  • Click on Offer.
  • View any messages; click on the far right down arrow to view each message in its entirety.
  • Scroll down to Grants and Scholarships to Pay for College.
  • Click on the name of each fund to view its award message.
  • On the far right, under Take Action, make your selection for each award offer.
  • Scroll down to Options to Pay Net Cost.
  • Click on the name of each fund to view its loan message.
  • On the far right, under Take Action, make your selection for each loan offer.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click Submit.

2023-2024

  • In the Self Service 9x - NEW box on the right, click on the Financial Aid Dashboard link.
  • On the Financial Aid Dashboard, select Award Year 2023-2024 from the drop-down box at the top right-hand corner.
  • Click on Offer.
  • View any messages; click on the far right down arrow to view each message in its entirety.
  • Scroll down to Grants and Scholarships to Pay for College.
  • Click on the name of each fund to view its award message.
  • On the far right, under Take Action, make your selection for each award offer.
  • Scroll down to Options to Pay Net Cost.
  • Click on the name of each fund to view its loan message.
  • On the far right, under Take Action, make your selection for each loan offer.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click Submit.
