Sign the Master Promissory Note (MPN) Online
All first-time borrowers MUST complete an Entrance Counseling Session and sign a Master
Promissory Note. Both requirements can be completed online using the Federal Student Aid StudentAid.gov website.
Subsidized/Unsubsidized Student Loans:
- Go to studentaid.gov and Log In.
- Choose Master Promissory Note (MPN) under the Loans and Grants header.
- Undergraduate Students - Click Start button beside I'm a Undergraduate Student.
- Graduate Students - Click Select MPN Type button beside I’m a Graduate/Professional Student. Then click Start beside MPN for Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans.
- Complete all steps and submit.
- Make sure to print a copy of the MPN for your records.
- The Office of Financial Aid will electronically receive your MPN within 1-2 business
days.
Parent PLUS Loan:
- Your parent needs to go to studentaid.gov and Log In with their username and password.
- Click Master Promissory Note (MPN) under the Loans and Grants header.
- Click Start button beside I'm a Parent of an Undergraduate Student.
- Complete all steps and submit.
- Make sure to print a copy of the MPN for your records.
- The Office of Financial Aid will electronically receive your parent's MPN within 1-2
business days.
Graduate PLUS Loan:
- Go to studentaid.gov and Log In.
- Click Master Promissory Note (MPN) under the Loans and Grants header.
- Click Select MPN Type button beside I’m a Graduate/Professional Student.
- Click Start beside MPN for Direct PLUS Loans.
- Complete all steps and submit.
- Make sure to print a copy of the MPN for your records.
- The Office of Financial Aid will electronically receive your MPN within 1-2 business
days.
