Spring Aid Credited to Winthrop Account

one week prior to the start of classes for students who have met all award eligibility
requirements. Financial aid will continue to credit to students' accounts twice a
week as students satisfy award requirements.
Transfer Student Financial Aid Offers Available on Wingspan
The Office of Financial Aid will start packaging financial aid offers to transfer
students beginning in March. These offers will be viewable on Wingspan. Students need to accept the offer for processing to continue.
Priority Deadline for Summer School Financial Aid Applications
Students that wish to receive financial aid for any summer term should submit their
summer schedule to the Office of Financial Aid. Students who complete the FAFSA after this date may still receive aid for the summer semester, but it is unlikely
it will be available on the first day of classes.
Before Commencement: Exit Counseling for Borrowers
Students who have borrowed federal student loans (Direct Loans) need to complete exit counseling before leaving the University. During the exit counseling session students will learn
about deferment and set up repayment options.
Summer Disbursement
Financial aid for the summer semester credits to students' accounts as students satisfy
award eligibility requirements. Financial aid will continue to credit to students'
accounts weekly throughout the summer as students satisfy award requirements. Please
visit the Summer School website for further information.
Fall/Spring and Spring Loans
Federal loans cannot be accepted and processed after the last date of exams. Students
who are attending the summer semester may still be able to apply for summer loans
and should submit a Summer Financial Aid Application for consideration. Federal loans
include: Subsidized, Unsubsidized, Parent PLUS and Graduate PLUS. In some cases,
the Office of Financial Aid may not be able to process loans that are accepted by
the last date of exams due to federal regulations (e.g. student stopped participating
in classes).
New Graduate and Returning Students Financial Aid Awards Available on Wingspan
The Office of Financial Aid will start packaging financial aid offers to new graduate
and returning students after spring semester grades post. These awards will be viewable
on Wingspan. Students need to accept the award for processing to continue.
Accept/Decline Awards via Wingspan
All students have to accept the financial aid awarded via Wingspan. Since there may be other processing that will happen after aid is accepted, students
should take action as soon as possible.
Complete Student Requirements via Wingspan
Students should check Wingspan to ensure that all requirements have been completed. Because corrections, clarifications
or additional documents may be needed, students should complete the requirements as
soon as possible.
